Bosch Intuvia: change the display language to English

Bosch Intuvia

The Intuvia (BUI255) has a full settings menu with nine languages. You open it with reset + i, which works whatever language is currently on screen. Two minutes, no dealer or app.

Step by step

  1. Switch the bike on with the power button on the Intuvia.
  2. Press and hold the reset button and the i button on the display together until the configuration menu appears (about 1 second).
  3. Press i repeatedly to step through the items until you reach the language line (shown as 'Language', 'Sprache', 'Taal' and so on).
  4. Press + or − on the control unit (or the light button as + and the power button as − on the display itself) to choose English. The menu text changes immediately.
  5. Press and hold the reset button for about 3 seconds to save and return to the ride screen.
Tip: You do not need to read a single word: count the presses of i, and watch for the line where the value is a language name.

Can't find it?

If reset + i only resets the trip, you released too early; hold both until the screen changes. Very early Intuvia firmware had fewer languages; a dealer can update it with DiagnosticTool. On an Intuvia 100 (Smart System, different unit) the language is set in the eBike Flow app instead.

Frequently asked

Which languages does the Intuvia have?

German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Danish and Swedish.

The menu is in German and I can't find the language line.

Open the menu with reset + i and press i until you see a value like 'Deutsch'; change it with + / −. The combination is the same in every language.

Is the Intuvia 100 the same?

No. The Intuvia 100 belongs to the Smart System and takes its language from the eBike Flow app.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
