Bosch Intuvia: check the software version and get a firmware update

Bosch Intuvia

The configuration menu shows the display and drive unit versions. Updating is dealer-only with Bosch DiagnosticTool over the diagnostic cable. Ten minutes at a dealer.

Step by step

  1. Switch the bike on and open the configuration menu with reset + i.
  2. Press i until you reach 'Displ. vX.X.X' and 'DU vX.X.X' (display and drive unit versions). Note them.
  3. Hold reset for about 3 seconds to leave the menu.
  4. Ask a Bosch dealer for an update; they connect DiagnosticTool to the diagnostic port and update display, drive unit and battery in one session.
  5. Afterwards, check language, units and time; an update can put them back to defaults.
Tip: Combine the update with a service: the dealer has the bike on the stand anyway.

Can't find it?

If the version lines are missing, keep pressing i; they are at the end of the list. Updates cannot be done via an app because the Intuvia has no Bluetooth.

Frequently asked

Can I update the Intuvia myself?

No. Classic Line updates need DiagnosticTool and the diagnostic cable, which only certified dealers have.

Will the update erase my total kilometres?

No. The odometer is stored in the drive unit.

Why would I want an update?

Bug fixes, corrected error-code behaviour and sometimes better range estimation. It is worth doing at a routine service.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
