Bosch Intuvia: turn the lights on and off, always-on lights

Bosch Intuvia

The light button sits on the Intuvia itself. Whether you can switch the lights off at all depends on the manufacturer's setting in the drive unit. No app involved.

Step by step

  1. Switch the bike on.
  2. Press the light button (bulb icon) on the display. A light symbol appears at the top and the backlight comes on.
  3. Press it again to switch the lights off.
  4. If the lights come on with the bike and the button has no effect, the bike is set to always-on lighting (a dealer setting in DiagnosticTool, common for NL/DE/DK city bikes).
  5. Flickering or a lamp not lighting while the symbol is on points to wiring or the lamp, not a setting.
Tip: Daytime lights cost almost no range: LED lamps draw a few watts against hundreds for the motor.

Can't find it?

The Intuvia has no automatic light mode; sensor-controlled lighting depends on the lamp. If you see an error code when pressing the light button, look it up on our error-code pages.

Frequently asked

Can I make the lights automatic on an Intuvia?

Not from the display. Always-on is a dealer setting; light-sensor automation needs a lamp that supports it.

Why can't I switch the lights off?

Always-on lighting was configured by the manufacturer; a dealer can change it in DiagnosticTool where local rules allow.

Does the backlight follow the lights?

Yes, the Intuvia backlight switches on with the bike lights and has no separate setting.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
