Setting 36 V / 48 V / 52 V on an S866 / S830 so the battery bar is right
P03 tells the display which battery it is reading (24, 36, 48, 60, 72 V; 52 V on newer firmware). Wrong P03 = a battery bar that is always full or always empty.
Step by step
- Switch the display on. Press and hold + and − (up and down) together for about 2–3 seconds. On most bikes a password screen appears: enter 1919 (set each digit with + / −, confirm with power). If 1919 is refused, try 0512, 0000 or 8018. The parameter list then opens at P01.
- Press power to P03. Set the nominal voltage of your pack: 36 for a 10s pack (42.0 V full), 48 for 13s (54.6 V full), 52 for 14s (58.8 V full) where offered.
- P15 = low-voltage cut-off in volts. Sensible: 36 V pack 31 V, 48 V pack 41 V, 52 V pack 44 V. Set it 1 V above the battery's BMS cut-off so the controller stops before the BMS slams the door.
- Power (short press) moves to the next parameter; + / − change the value; hold + and − together to save and exit.
- Check: fully charged pack should show all bars; check again after 10 km.
Can't find it?
Bar reads empty on a full pack: P03 set too high (60 on a 48 V bike). Bar reads full until it dies: P03 too low. Bar jumps around: voltage sag from the pack, not the display; P05-like smoothing does not exist on the S866.
Frequently asked
Is P03 dangerous to change?
No, it only changes the display scale; the controller measures the real voltage. P15 is the one that matters: too low and you over-discharge the pack.
Why does my 48 V bike show 36?
OEM error or a swapped display. Set 48.
Display switches off at 4 bars?
P15 far too high, or a worn pack sagging under load.

These displays are sold unbranded by many factories, so there is no single official manual. Check the manual that came with your bike, or your bike brand's support page.
