How to change and customise pedal assist levels on Aventon (display + app)

Aventon colour display (Level, Pace, Aventure, Soltera) + Aventon app

Aventon bikes have PAS 0 to 5 (some models 0 to 4), switched with '+'/'-'. On Level.2, Aventure.2, Pace 500.3, Abound and later, the Aventon app lets you set the power and speed of each level.

Step by step

  1. On the bike: press '+' to increase and '-' to decrease. Level 0 = no assist (throttle still works on class-2 models).
  2. The current level shows at the bottom of the display as 'Eco / Tour / Sport / Turbo' style names or a number, depending on firmware.
  3. In the Aventon app (torque-sensor models): open the bike > 'Settings' > 'Pedal Assist' (or 'Ride mode').
  4. Tap a level and drag the sliders 'Assist power' (percentage) and 'Max speed' for that level. Save.
  5. The display picks up the profile on the next connection; ride a short loop to check.
  6. Reset to factory: 'Restore defaults' at the bottom of the same screen.
Tip: For a longer range, cut level 5 to 80% power and 20 mph, and use level 2 at 40%: the cadence-sensor Pace models cannot be customised this way.

Can't find it?

If the app has no 'Pedal Assist' editor, your model has a cadence sensor (Pace 350, Pace 500 original, Level 2020) or the app version is old.

Frequently asked

Assist kicks in too hard from a standstill.

Lower the power of levels 1 and 2 in the app, or choose a lower level for starting.

Can I add more levels?

No, the count is fixed per model.

Does a custom profile affect the legal class?

It cannot exceed the class limit set in Bike Settings; it only lowers each level.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
