How the throttle works on a Lectric XP and XPedition and whether you can disable it

Lectric XP 2.0 / 3.0 / XPedition display

Lectric bikes have a half-twist (XP 2.0) or thumb (XP 3.0, XPedition) throttle that works in any PAS level. There is no menu to disable it; unplugging is the only way.

Step by step

  1. The throttle works with the display on, brake levers released, in PAS 0 to 5.
  2. To disable: unplug the throttle connector at the right side of the handlebar (3-pin, usually yellow) and tape the plug. The bike rides on pedal assist only.
  3. To re-enable: reconnect and switch the display off and on.
  4. In class 3 (P08 = 28 mph) the throttle is meant to stop at 20 mph; check it on your firmware.
  5. EU / UK: a full throttle is illegal on public roads; Lectric EU bikes ship with the throttle disabled or as 6 km/h walk-throttle.
Tip: A sticking half-twist throttle on the XP 2.0 is a known fault; replace it if it does not spring back.

Can't find it?

There is no P-setting for the throttle on any XP 2.0 / 3.0 / XPedition firmware.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
