How pedal assist levels work on the Lectric XP and XPedition and what you can change

Lectric XP 2.0 / 3.0 / XPedition display

Lectric XP 2.0/3.0 use a cadence sensor with PAS 0 to 5. The XPedition (2023+) uses a torque sensor with 0 to 5. Levels are changed with '+'/'-'; P05 sets the assist profile.

Step by step

  1. Press '+' to raise and '-' to lower the level; it shows on the left of the display.
  2. Level 0 = no pedal assist; throttle still works.
  3. To change the assist curve: With the display on and the bike stationary, press and hold '+' and '-' together for about 1 second to open the P-settings menu (P01 appears). Then power/M to P05.
  4. P05 = 0 is the default curve; higher values shift assist so level 1 starts stronger (XP 2.0/3.0). On the XPedition P05 sets torque sensitivity (0 to 3).
  5. Hold '+' and '-' to save.
  6. There is no app-based customisation on XP 2.0/3.0/XPedition.
Tip: For town riding on a cadence-sensor XP, level 2 is plenty; level 5 in traffic surges because the motor does not know how hard you pedal.

Can't find it?

If P05 is missing, your firmware has a fixed curve.

Frequently asked

Assist starts a second after I pedal.

Normal for cadence sensors; the magnet ring needs a partial revolution. If it takes more than one full turn, the sensor is misaligned.

Can I make level 1 gentler for a child?

Only via P05 = 0 and P08 (lower speed limit).

Why does assist feel different on my XPedition?

Torque sensor: it multiplies your effort. Pedal harder for more power.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
