How to turn the lights on and off on a Lectric XP or XPedition

Lectric XP 2.0 / 3.0 / XPedition display

Integrated headlight and tail light are switched from the display; the tail light also acts as a brake light on XP 3.0 and XPedition.

Step by step

  1. With the display on, press and hold '+' for 2 seconds. The light icon appears and both lights come on.
  2. Hold '+' again to turn them off.
  3. The brake light works whenever the display is on.
  4. Lights switch off with the display.
Tip: The headlight is dim by design; for night riding add a proper front light.

Can't find it?

If holding '+' only raises the level, hold longer. If the icon shows but no light, check the plug at the headlight.

Frequently asked

Tail light stays on constantly.

Brake sensor stuck; adjust the lever free play.

Can I add turn signals?

Not on XP 2.0/3.0; XP 4 has them.

Do the lights drain the battery?

No, a few percent per hour.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
