Wheel circumference on a Giant SyncDrive e-bike with RideControl
Giant locks wheel circumference to its dealer service tool. Neither the RideControl display menu nor the RideControl app exposes it.
Step by step
- Compare speed with GPS on a flat kilometre; more than 5 % off suggests circumference.
- Measure the rolling circumference under load in mm.
- Book a Giant dealer; they set it with the Giant service tool in a few minutes.
- Verify against GPS afterwards.
Tip: Giant's speed sensor is often a rim/spoke magnet; check the gap (2-5 mm) before you assume a circumference issue.
Can't find it?
Non-Giant shops cannot change it: the SyncDrive tool is dealer-network only.
Frequently asked
Can a Yamaha dealer change it?
No. SyncDrive uses Giant software; only Giant dealers have the tool.
Does the RideControl app show wheel size?
No.
Is a wrong value dangerous?
Not dangerous; cut-off and ODO drift.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
