Use walk assist on a Giant SyncDrive e-bike with RideControl One, Evo, Dash or Ergo

Giant RideControl (One, Evo, Dash, Ergo) / Giant RideControl app

Giant puts walk assist on a dedicated button (walking-figure symbol) on RideControl One, Ergo and the Evo switch. Hold it and the motor pushes at up to 6 km/h.

Step by step

  1. Stop and switch the bike on. Select any assist level except OFF.
  2. Press and hold the walk button (walking figure). On RideControl Evo without a walk button, hold the - button until the walk symbol shows, then keep holding.
  3. The motor starts after about a second and pushes while the button is held.
  4. Release to stop. The bike returns to the previous level.
Tip: Low gear first on derailleur bikes; on Nexus/Enviolo hubs walk assist is consistent in any gear.

Can't find it?

Nothing happens: walk assist disabled on that model (some city models) or the wheel is blocked. Dealer tool can enable it where allowed.
