Change units (mph to km/h) on Giant RideControl One, Evo, Dash or Ergo

Giant RideControl (One, Evo, Dash, Ergo) / Giant RideControl app

Where the setting lives depends on your RideControl: Dash and Evo have it in the display menu, One and Ergo (no screen or minimal screen) use the RideControl app.

Step by step

  1. RideControl Dash: press and hold the menu/select button until Settings opens, choose [Units], pick km/h, confirm.
  2. RideControl Evo: stop the bike, hold the mode (i) button for about three seconds to enter settings, step to the unit item with + and -, confirm with the mode button.
  3. RideControl One / Ergo: Open the Giant RideControl app on the phone, switch the bike on and connect (see the pairing guide). Open Settings > Units and set Metric.
  4. Restart the bike and check the speed readout.
  5. The app setting and display setting are stored separately on some firmware; set both if you use the app.
Tip: Second-hand Giant from the UK? Units in the app default to the phone's region on first install; set it explicitly.

Can't find it?

No unit item in the Evo menu: older Evo firmware only has units in the app. Update the display firmware via the app first.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
