Setting the time on a Bafang 850C / 860C display
The 850C and 860C show the time in the status bar. It is set under Display Setting → Set Clock and, like the DP C18, it resets after several days without the battery.
Step by step
- Switch on, then press and hold + and − together (on a 860C with an M/i button: hold + and − as well, or press i twice on some firmware) for about 2 seconds until the Setting menu opens.
- Open Display Setting and scroll to Set Clock.
- Press power; the hour flashes. Adjust with + / −, confirm with power.
- The minute flashes; adjust and confirm.
- Back → Exit. The status bar updates immediately.
- On firmware with a date field (860C), the same item continues with year, month and day.
Tip: Leave the battery on the bike (switched off) between rides and the clock keeps time indefinitely; it only needs the display's standby feed, a few milliamps.
Can't find it?
The 500C and 750C have no clock: the status bar shows voltage or ride time. If the item is named 'Time' but shows a counter that starts at 00:00 every ride, that is the trip timer, not a clock.
Frequently asked
Clock resets every morning?
Then the display is losing standby power: a battery that is switched off at its own key switch, or a loose 5-pin display plug. Check the connector.
12-hour or 24-hour?
24-hour only.
Can the 850C show the date?
Only the newer 860C firmware. The 850C is time only.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
