Set the time on a Shimano STEPS SC-EM800, SC-EN600 or SC-EN500
The clock can be set on the display or synced from the phone through E-TUBE Ride, which is the easier route on this generation.
Step by step
- Easiest: connect E-TUBE Ride to the display. The app syncs the display clock to the phone time automatically on connection.
- Manual: Stop the bike and switch it on. Press and hold both assist buttons (X and Y) on the SW-EM800 switch at the same time until the settings menu opens. On an SC-EN600 with buttons on the display, hold the display's function button instead.
- Scroll with X/Y, confirm with the A (function) button.
- Scroll to [Clock] and press A. Set hours with X/Y, press A, then minutes, press A.
- Scroll to [Exit] and press A.
Tip: Connect E-TUBE Ride once after every long storage; the clock is corrected without touching the menu.
Can't find it?
No [Clock] item: hidden by the brand. Use E-TUBE Ride sync or E-TUBE Project's display page (which also has 12h/24h).
Frequently asked
Does the SC-EM800 clock sync with the phone?
Yes, when E-TUBE Ride connects.
Why does the clock reset in winter?
No backup cell; long battery removal resets it. Reconnect the app or set it by hand.
Daylight saving?
Not automatic on the display; sync with the app after the change.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
