How to enable or disable the throttle on a Ride1Up

Ride1Up displays (Turbo, Roadster, 700 series)

Ride1Up models with a thumb throttle (700 Series, LMT'D, Turbo, Core-5, Portola, Revv 1) let you choose in the advanced menu whether it works from PAS 0 or only when pedal assist is active. Roadster and Prodigy have no throttle.

Step by step

  1. With the display on and the bike stationary, press and hold '+' and '-' together for about 2 seconds to open the settings menu.
  2. Enter the advanced menu (password 1919 or 0512).
  3. Find 'Throttle' / 'C4' / 'P-throttle'. Options: 0 = throttle off, 1 = throttle works in PAS 0 only, 2 (or 'All') = throttle works in all levels (default).
  4. Confirm and exit.
  5. Throttle cuts at 20 mph on class-3 bikes.
  6. To physically disable, unplug the 3-pin throttle connector at the handlebar.
Tip: Setting the throttle to 'PAS 0 only' is a good compromise: no surprise surges when you touch it in traffic, still usable from a standstill.

Can't find it?

If there is no throttle entry, your firmware is fixed; unplugging is the only way.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
