How to change the brightness on Ride1Up displays

Ride1Up displays (Turbo, Roadster, 700 series)

Brightness is in the first settings screen, 1 to 5 on colour displays and 1 to 3 on the Roadster.

Step by step

  1. With the display on and the bike stationary, press and hold '+' and '-' together for about 2 seconds to open the settings menu.
  2. Find 'Brightness' / 'bL' and set 1 to 5 with '+'/'-'.
  3. Confirm and exit.
  4. Roadster: hold power for 2 seconds > 'Brightness'.
Tip: Colour KD displays are readable in sun at 4 or 5; lower settings save nothing worth mentioning.

Can't find it?

If brightness is missing, it is under 'Display' on newer firmware.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
