How to turn the lights on and off on a Ride1Up

Ride1Up displays (Turbo, Roadster, 700 series)

Models with integrated lights (700 Series, LMT'D, Turbo, Portola, Revv 1) switch them from the display; Core-5 and Roadster ship without lights on some versions.

Step by step

  1. With the display on, hold '+' for 2 seconds. The light icon appears and headlight and tail light come on.
  2. Hold '+' again to switch off.
  3. The tail light acts as a brake light on 2022+ models.
  4. Lights switch off with the display.
Tip: The 700 Series headlight is bright enough for unlit paths; the Turbo's is a marker light only.

Can't find it?

If the icon shows but nothing lights, check the headlight plug at the fork crown.

Frequently asked

Only the tail light works.

Headlight plug or bulb; separate circuit.

Tail light permanently bright.

Brake sensor stuck; adjust lever free play.

Can I add lights to a Core-5?

Yes; the controller has a 6V or 12V light output (check your batch) with a plug at the head tube.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
