How to reset the trip distance on the Rad Power Bikes LCD display

Rad Power Bikes LCD display (RadRover, RadCity, RadRunner, RadWagon)

The Rad LCD keeps TRIP (resettable) and ODO (total, not resettable). Trip resets with a button hold from the main screen.

Step by step

  1. Turn the display on and stop the bike (speed 0).
  2. Press MODE briefly until the lower field shows 'TRIP'.
  3. Press and hold Up and Down together for about 2 seconds; TRIP goes to 0.0.
  4. If that opens the Settings menu instead, exit (hold MODE) and instead hold MODE and Down together for 2 seconds; older firmware used this combination.
  5. Newer Rad LCD (2022+): hold MODE for 2 seconds > 'Trip reset' > MODE to confirm.
  6. ODO cannot be reset on any Rad display.
Tip: Trip also resets automatically when the display is powered off for more than a few hours on some firmware versions; do not rely on it for multi-day totals.

Can't find it?

If neither combination works, check that you are on the TRIP screen and not on 'AVG' or 'MAX'; those reset together with TRIP.

Frequently asked

Can I reset the odometer?

No. ODO is stored in the display and is used for warranty claims.

TRIP shows a huge number.

Wheel size is set wrong (e.g. 700c on a 20-inch RadRunner). See the wheel-size guide.

Where is the range estimate?

The Rad LCD has no range estimate; the battery bar is voltage-based and drops under load.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
