Resetting the trip counter on a KT LCD3 / LCD5 / LCD8
On the LCD3 the TRIP counter clears every time the display is switched off; there is no manual reset. The LCD8H adds a manual reset by holding buttons on the TRIP screen.
Step by step
- Press the power button briefly to cycle the data field: TRIP → ODO → time → voltage (order varies).
- LCD3 / LCD5: to zero TRIP, switch the display off and on. It always starts at 0.
- LCD8H: cycle to TRIP, then hold ▲ and power (some firmware: ▲ and ▼ for 3 seconds on the TRIP field) until it zeroes.
- ODO cannot be reset on any KT display without C10 (restore defaults), which also wipes your P/C settings.
Tip: If you want a trip that survives power-off (a day tour with lunch stop), use the ODO difference or a phone app; the LCD3 was never designed for it.
Can't find it?
TRIP does not clear on power-off: you have an LCD8 or an OEM firmware with persistent trip; look for the hold-to-reset gesture on the TRIP screen. TRIP clears while riding: the display is losing power for an instant (loose connector or C12 too high).

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
