Use System Lock on a Specialized Turbo (TCU, Mastermind) with Mission Control or the Specialized app
System Lock disables the motor and shows a lock symbol (and on Mastermind, an alarm-style message) until the bike is unlocked from your paired phone. It does not stop anyone wheeling the bike away; it just makes it a heavy bike.
Step by step
- Open the Mission Control app (or the Specialized app on 2022+ Mastermind bikes), switch the bike on and connect (see the pairing guide).
- Open the bike page > [System Lock] (on older apps under Settings > Security).
- Enable System Lock and set a PIN in the app.
- Lock: with the bike on, tap Lock in the app, or on Mastermind hold the S button and choose Lock. The TCU shows a lock symbol; the motor refuses to assist.
- Unlock: open the app while in Bluetooth range; it unlocks automatically or after the PIN. Mastermind can also unlock with the PIN entered on the remote.
- Auto-lock: enable in the app so the bike locks whenever the phone walks away.
Tip: Keep the PIN somewhere safe; without phone and PIN the only unlock is at a Specialized dealer with proof of ownership.

Bought second-hand and it is locked: contact a Specialized dealer with the purchase proof. They can unlock it with the dealer tool.
