Switch lights on and off on a Specialized Turbo (Vado, Como, Tero) with TCU, TCD or Mastermind
Vado and Como lights come on automatically with the bike. On Mastermind you can toggle them in Settings; on TCU/TCD bikes the app has the switch. Levo mountain bikes have no light output wired.
Step by step
- Mastermind TCU/TCD: open Settings (hold S), choose [Lights] > ON/OFF/AUTO.
- TCD / plain TCU: Open the Mission Control app (or the Specialized app on 2022+ Mastermind bikes), switch the bike on and connect (see the pairing guide). Toggle Lights on the bike page.
- Some remotes map lights to a long press of + ; check [Controls] in the app.
- Restart the bike; lights follow the saved setting.
Tip: Always-on lights are a legal default in some markets and cannot be switched off on those bikes; the app shows the option greyed out.
Can't find it?
Lights setting ON but lamp dark: check the connector at the headlight and the tail light cable at the rear rack. Both run from the main battery.
Frequently asked
Can I fit lights to a Levo and control them from the TCU?
The Levo motor has a light output but it is not wired on stock bikes; a dealer can enable it after fitting a lamp.
Do lights drain the battery?
A few watts.
Can lights be automatic?
Mastermind bikes with a light sensor: yes.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
