Reset the trip counter on a Yamaha PW e-bike display (Display A, Display C, Display X)

Yamaha PW displays (Display A, Display C, Interface X, Display X)

Trip and average values reset from the ride screen with a long press, not from a menu. ODO is not resettable.

Step by step

  1. Press the function button briefly until the TRIP (trip distance) screen is shown.
  2. Press and hold the function button for about two seconds. The value flashes and returns to 0.0.
  3. On Display C the same long press on the AVG or MAX screen clears that value.
  4. Display X: open the menu, choose [Reset trip] and confirm.
  5. Interface X: reset the ride in the Yamaha e-bike app.
Tip: If the value returns to a previous number after switching off, you released the button too early; hold until it actually shows 0.0.

Can't find it?

Long press opens something else (settings): on some firmware the reset is a double press then hold. Check the bike brand's manual for your display version.

Frequently asked

Can I reset ODO on a Yamaha display?

No. ODO lives in the drive unit and is your mileage proof.

Does the range estimate reset?

No; it recalculates from battery state and assist mode.

Trip resets by itself.

Some OEM firmware clears the trip after a long power-off. Not a fault.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
