Settings password on an SW900, EN06 or KD718
Most SW900 and EN06 units open their settings without a code. Where a code is asked, the published defaults are 1919 (SW900, EN06 on some brands) and 8018 (KD718 Advanced menu).
Step by step
- Hold ▲ and ▼ for 2 seconds after power-on.
- If a code screen appears: enter 1919 (set digits with ▲ / ▼, power to move on).
- Refused: try 8018, then 0512, 0000.
- KD718: the basic menu opens without a code; Advanced (wheel/speed limit) asks for 8018.
- There is no user-set password on the SW900; the code is fixed in the firmware.
Tip: These codes are published in the manufacturer manuals and on every dealer forum; they are not secrets, but the settings behind them can make the bike illegal or damage the drive, so change one thing at a time and note the old value.
Can't find it?
All codes refused: brand-specific firmware (some Ride1Up SW900 use 2020; some Rad-style EN06 have no menu at all). Ask the brand's support; they publish it.
Frequently asked
Is the SW900 code changeable?
No.
Does the KD718 have a start-up password?
Some firmware: 'Password' in the basic menu, 4 digits, owner-set.
Forgot a KD718 start-up code?
No handlebar reset; the display is replaced.
Manuals and video
These displays are sold unbranded by many factories, so there is no single official manual. Check the manual that came with your bike, or your bike brand's support page.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
