Pair a Shimano STEPS EW-EN100 junction (no display) with the E-TUBE Project and E-TUBE Ride apps
The EW-EN100 is a small box with two LEDs and one button, usually under the stem. It has Bluetooth built in and the app becomes your display. Pairing is straightforward once you know the LED codes.
Step by step
- Switch the bike on with the battery button. Both LEDs on the EW-EN100 light briefly.
- Press and hold the EW-EN100 button for about two seconds (on some firmware: press twice quickly) until the Bluetooth LED starts blinking; this puts it in pairing mode.
- Open E-TUBE Project on the phone and tap the connect icon. Do not pair from the phone's Bluetooth settings.
- Select EW-EN100 (followed by digits) from the list and enter the passkey, default 000000.
- The app reads the drive unit, battery and junction. Change settings only after it finishes.
- For E-TUBE Ride: open it, choose the same EW-EN100 and put the phone in a bar mount; it now shows speed, assist and battery.
Can't find it?
EW-EN100 not visible: another phone is still connected, or Bluetooth was switched off in E-TUBE Project. Switch the bike off for ten seconds and retry. On Android, grant the app location permission.
Frequently asked
Where is the pairing code for an EW-EN100?
Default 000000. If a previous owner changed it, a dealer can reset it in E-TUBE Project dealer mode.
Can I ride without the app?
Yes. The button changes assist mode and the LED colour shows which mode you are in. The app is only needed for settings and ride data.
Does the EW-EN100 work with E-TUBE Ride?
Yes; it is the intended display replacement for bikes without a screen.
