Bosch Nyon: activate and use eBike Lock
eBike Lock uses your phone (BUI350 via eBike Flow, BUI275 via eBike Connect) as the key; without it the motor gives no support. Free, three minutes to set up.
Step by step
- Pair the Nyon with the right app first (BUI350: eBike Flow, BUI275: eBike Connect).
- BUI350: eBike Flow > Settings > your eBike > 'eBike Lock' > on. BUI275: eBike Connect > Settings > My eBike > 'eBike Lock' > on (also visible under Settings > My eBike on the Nyon).
- The Nyon shows a lock symbol at start-up. It unlocks automatically when the phone with the app is within Bluetooth range.
- Without the phone the bike rides as a normal bicycle; lights and display work, motor does not.
- Switch the lock off in the same app menu before lending or selling the bike. Removing the Nyon from its holder also makes the bike unrideable with support.
Can't find it?
If the bike stays locked with the phone nearby: open the app, check the bike shows as connected, restart the bike. Lost phone: log in on another phone with the same account. Dealers can remove eBike Lock in DiagnosticTool with proof of ownership.
Frequently asked
Is there a PIN on the Nyon?
The BUI275 had an optional screen lock code for the display itself in some software versions; eBike Lock (motor lock) works via the phone on both generations.
Can I use eBike Lock without the app?
No; the app is the key.
Does eBike Lock stop theft?
It makes the bike useless as an e-bike; it does not physically lock it. Use a chain lock too.
