Bosch Nyon: set the display brightness and night mode

Bosch Nyon

The Nyon has automatic brightness via its light sensor with a manual level available; a dark colour scheme comes on with the lights. One minute.

Step by step

  1. Settings (gear) > 'System settings' > 'Brightness' (BUI275: Settings > 'Display').
  2. Choose 'Auto' or drag the slider to a fixed level.
  3. The dark scheme (night mode) switches automatically when the bike lights are on; some versions let you force it under the same menu ('Color scheme').
  4. Back with the back arrow.
Tip: Auto is best; set a fixed high level only if a phone mount shades the sensor at the top of the Nyon.

Can't find it?

If the screen stays dim, clean the light sensor on the front edge and check Auto. A screen that stays black although the bike is on is a holder-contact or cable issue, not brightness.

Frequently asked

Does brightness affect range?

Marginally; the Nyon draws a couple of watts.

Why does the Nyon dim by itself?

Auto brightness reacting to ambient light.

Can I force night mode?

On most software versions yes, under System settings > Color scheme.
