Bosch Nyon: set the time (usually automatic)

Bosch Nyon

The Nyon takes time from GPS, from the paired phone (BUI350 via eBike Flow) or from Wi-Fi (BUI275), so it is rarely wrong; a manual setting exists for the time zone and format. One minute.

Step by step

  1. Switch the Nyon on and wait for the GPS icon or a connected app; the time syncs by itself.
  2. If it is off by whole hours: Settings (gear) > 'System settings' > 'Time' / 'Time zone' and choose your zone; daylight saving is then handled automatically.
  3. Set 'Time format' 12h/24h in the same place.
  4. BUI275 without app or Wi-Fi: set hours and minutes manually under System settings > Time.
  5. Return with the back arrow.
Tip: A Nyon that is exactly one hour off has the wrong time zone selected, not a broken clock.

Can't find it?

If the time keeps resetting on a BUI275, the display's buffer battery is worn; keep it mounted and on, or have it checked. If the Nyon never gets a GPS fix indoors, take it outside for a minute.

Frequently asked

Does the Nyon adjust for summer time?

Yes, from GPS/phone/Wi-Fi once the time zone is right.

Can I set the date?

Date comes from GPS or the app; it is not set by hand.

Why is the time wrong just after switching on?

It updates within a minute once GPS or the phone connects.

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
