King-Meter error 24: Motor hall sensor fault on the rear motor
The display has stopped receiving a clean signal from the hall sensors inside the hub motor that report wheel position and rotation. The controller cuts motor assist immediately and the speed reading drops to zero, so pedalling is the only way to move. Throttle and walk assist are also disabled until the fault clears.

| Typical cost | Expect roughly 40–90 EUR for a motor cable or connector repair, around 150–350 EUR for a controller replacement, and 250–600 EUR for a hub motor replacement including labour when out of warranty. |
Likely causes
- Hall sensor connector at the motor cable not fully seated or pins backed out of the housing
- Frayed, pinched or chafed motor cable near the dropout or where it enters the axle
- Water ingress into the hub motor causing corrosion on the hall sensor wires
- Failed hall sensor element inside the hub motor
- Damaged controller input stage on the hall signal circuit
How to fix King-Meter error 24
- Power off the display and remove the battery before any inspection.
- Unplug the motor cable connector near the controller and inspect both halves for bent, green or pushed-back pins.
- Reseat the connector firmly and refit any locking clip or rubber boot.
- Trace the cable from the axle to the controller and look for chafing, kinks or pinch damage, especially near the dropout and head tube.
- Reconnect, restore power and ride briefly on flat ground to see if the code clears.
- If code 24 returns, the fault is inside the motor or the controller; take the bike to a dealer for bench diagnostics and replacement of the affected part.
Warranty: A genuine hall sensor failure inside the motor or a faulty controller within two years is normally treated as a warranty repair, while crash damage, water ingress from pressure washing and worn or chafed cables are usually excluded.
Typical cost: Expect roughly 40–90 EUR for a motor cable or connector repair, around 150–350 EUR for a controller replacement, and 250–600 EUR for a hub motor replacement including labour when out of warranty.
Frequently asked
Can I reset king-meter error 24?
A power cycle clears the code only if the underlying fault has actually healed, which is rare because a hall sensor or damaged cable rarely recovers on its own. If 24 returns as soon as you ride or apply throttle, the fault is still present and needs mechanical attention. Do not rely on repeated resets to keep riding.
Is it safe to keep riding with king-meter code 24 showing?
The bike will run on pedal power only because assist, throttle and walk mode are switched off, so riding is not dangerous in itself. However, the warning indicates a real component failure and continuing can mask worsening damage to the cable or motor. Treat the code as a stop-and-ride-home signal and book a service.
How much does it cost to fix king-meter code 24 and is it under warranty?
A simple cable or connector repair is the cheapest route at around 40–90 EUR including labour, while a controller replacement runs 150–350 EUR and a hub motor 250–600 EUR. Inside the two-year warranty window a genuine component fault is normally covered, but crash damage, water ingress and worn cables are excluded.
