Walk assist (6 km/h) on a Tongsheng TSDZ2 VLCD5, VLCD6 or XH18

Tongsheng TSDZ2 VLCD5 / VLCD6 / XH18

Hold − for about 2 seconds: the TSDZ2 drives at walking pace while you hold. Release to stop. It drives through the chain, so shift to a low gear.

Step by step

  1. Switch on. Shift to a low gear (walk mode uses the chain like pedalling).
  2. Hold − for about 2 seconds until the walk icon appears.
  3. Keep − held; the bike moves at up to 6 km/h.
  4. Release to stop. Brake sensors (if fitted) also cut it.
  5. On the XH18 the walk icon is a small 'P' left of the speed.
Tip: In a high gear the TSDZ2 walk assist stalls and can throw the overcurrent error; always downshift before a ramp.

Can't find it?

No walk: brake sensor stuck (brake icon), OEM firmware with walk disabled, or a − button that needs a longer press (VLCD6 rubber keys wear).

Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
