Switching lights on and off from a Bafang C961 / C965

Bafang C961 / C965 (older BBS displays)

Hold + (up) for 2 seconds. The light icon appears and the backlight switches to night mode.

Step by step

  1. Switch on.
  2. Hold + for about 2 seconds until the headlight icon shows.
  3. Hold + again to switch off.
  4. Walk assist is the opposite button: hold − for 2 seconds.
Tip: BBS01/02 light output is 6 V, max about 6 W. A 6 V e-bike light set (front + rear) works straight off the motor's 2-pin lead.

Can't find it?

Icon on, no light: the 2-pin lead at the motor is unplugged or the light is 12 V. No icon: worn + button, common on 10-year-old C961 pads.

Yes with a DC-DC converter; then the display icon does nothing.
