How to fix Specialized Turbo error battery-not-found

  1. Open the Specialized app and follow any user action linked to this code
  2. Remove the battery and inspect the contact strip and the frame contacts for dirt, verdigris or bent pins
  3. Clean the contacts with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth, then let them dry
  4. Refit the battery, confirm the latch clicks shut and that the battery is fully locked in the frame
  5. Power on the bike; if the code remains, do a full reset: power off, remove the battery for 30 seconds, refit and power on again
  6. If the code returns, stop riding and book the bike in at an Authorized Specialized Retailer for harness and TCU diagnostics
Go to a dealer if: A dealer is required when the code clears only after a wiggle, returns after a full reset, or appears together with reduced range, because the harness, BMS or TCU then needs bench-level diagnostics.
Warranty: A genuine battery, wiring harness or TCU fault inside the two-year frame and component warranty is normally replaced at no cost, while crash damage, water ingress, modified firmware and lack of basic maintenance are excluded.

Frequently asked

Can I reset the battery-not-found error on my Specialized?

Yes. Power the bike off, remove the battery for about thirty seconds, refit it firmly until the latch clicks and power on again. If the code reappears, the issue is a connection or component fault rather than a stuck state.

Is it safe to keep riding with the battery-not-found error?

No. The motor and walk assist are cut, so the bike rides as a heavy unpowered bicycle and a loosely seated battery can drop out of the frame. Stop riding and diagnose before continuing.

Will Specialized warranty cover the battery-not-found error?

A defective battery, TCU or internal harness inside the warranty period is normally replaced at no cost. Damage from crashes, water ingress or improper battery fitting is not covered.
